Last week Motor City Rocks asked me to write a thingy on the upcoming Hamtramck Blowout and, since I’m all about spreading my bad grammar and limited vocabulary all over the interworld, I agreed. I tried to stay away from bands I regularly hype because the Blowout is about getting the chance to see acts you haven’t heard before. You’ll get your fifteen dollars worth during the Wednesday night pre-party, so use the other three days to broaden your horizons…or something. You can read my Blowout suggestions right here — mine’s the one with two pictures of chick bands included which, I’m pretty sure, makes me some kind of pervert.

I ended up with the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album last night and I know some of you did, too. Only had time to listen through it once so far, it’s tamer than their previous stuff but I’m digging it, especially that last track.
