It’s gonna be dead slow here for a week or two – unless someone else wants to take on posting duty. I’ve still got a shitload of Super Bowl party photos, a few vague memories of my four-day weekend, and the disturbing fact that by mid-day Saturday I had reached the point where, no matter how much liquor I drank, I couldn’t feel drunk. So yeah, it’s two weeks of detox while I have a work project I actually need to be involved in . . . then it’s back to pretending I have no responsibilities.
Quickly:
•A new Morrissey song is out there.
•A new Dirty Pretty Sings thong is out there.
•Franz Ferdinand plays the State Theatre with Death Cab For Cutie April 18. Let me just say that I’m a huge Franz Fizzle fan — and they’re a great live show — but there’s no way I’m paying money to put up with a State Theatre full of DCFC fans. That being said, if someone wants to give me a ticket, I’ll be there. Alex?
•The new Secret Machines album leaked.
•The new Electric Six album has been officially released in the U.S.
•There’s three new BRMC videos on their site and and an “exclusive” CD they’ll be selling on tour. (Can someone pick one up for me? I can’t make it to Columbus.)
•Kiera Knightly got a digital boob job.
•My favorite Jessica Alba picture just showed up in hi-res.
•Johnny Headband is playing Mac’s Bar this Friday and even Jennifer Granholm has heard the buzz. I know how much you Lansing-ites loves The Hard Lessons, so be sure to get there early enough to catch JH.
Random Super Bowl Weekend Tidbits:
At the Hawaiian Tropic Party, thirty-somethings pretended to be twenty-somethings:
At the Commissioner’s Party, Boyz II Men lost a member but made up for it by playing “Motownphilly.” Twice:

Camel Toe!
I’ve got a better Morissey song for ya.

The Sextants
Unreleased E.P.
That is a better song. But for future reference, nobody wants a goddamn m4a file.
Jasper would’ve loved it. Last night, the closing scene of “Bones” on FOX used Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s “Feel It Now” as the scene-setting music. Good fucking song, too - I went scrambling all over the internerd trying to find out who it was.
Haha I saw that shit.
Dark nerds.
They are my target market…. they relate. .:sobs:.
De-Frib, my wife watched with me last night, and about halfway through the episode she turned to me and asked (quite seriously), “That’s what you were like in high school, isn’t it?” I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
I was watching Idol and that came on after so I let it play - I was at the time wrapped up in some high level nerdly-ness on the playstation.
But aside from that episode, that has to be the worst show on television, I’m sorry.
The only thing remotely cool about it it that - the chick - her name is Bones, how rad is that?
Really? I’d heard good things about it and was considering downloading all the episodes this weekend.
It’s not terrible, but it seems like my wife and I are the only folks I know that dig the show. The last two episodes have (by far) been the best ones to air, though. Jasper, if you ever get a copy of that BMRC song, hook me up. I’m thinking about ordering the damned single because I thought it was so good.
It’ll be on the Weight Of The World single, whenever that gets released. It was supposed to be out Dec/Jan, then got pushed back to Feb and now I hear March. I’m gonna download the episode just to hear the song.
I’m a magician. Here it is. It’s probably been edited a bit to fit in the time needed to fill the episode, but it’s a decent preview.

If you were properly registered, Senor Garo, I could have sent this to you directly. That goes for all you unregistered “regulars,” too.
Gracias, good sir - I’m registered now. I’m sure the song was edited, as the scene it was used in was less than two minutes long. Thanks for the hookup, indeed.
FYI: They opened the Columbus show Friday night with this song–Peter doing it solo.
No, I was not there.
I was…the song was great live. Wildest Black Rebel show I’ve ever been to. There is no limited edition tour CD that everyone is asking about either. First song of the encore was a solo accoustic by Robert called “Mercy” Looked for it last night, couldn’t find it anywhere.
Here’s a video from the columbus show.http://www.youtube.com/v/cMIWhC4D_5g
Careful, it might make you puke.
