This week’s Real Detroit features an article/interview with Freer, who are throwing their CD release party this Friday at the Lager House. You’ll remember Freer as the first band to headline a Web Vomit-sponsored lineup, and a band I write about regularly. The article begins with a quote from singer/pianist Jeremy Freer, and goes like this: “To me, Billie Holiday is more emo than any band could ever be”. If that doesn’t pique your interest and make you want to read the rest of the article, you’re kinda odd.
Freer will be joined by The Office, The Silent Years and Tigercity this Friday. If I were you, I’d plan your weekend around it. Their debut album will be available for the first time at the show, or you can order it through Amazon right now.

The Hold Steady are releasing a live acoustic EP. The liner notes are rumored to be scratch-n-sniff, smelling like beer, sweat, cigarette smoke and B.O. — it’s like you’re really there! Oh, and they’ve got a new video: “Stuck Between Stations”.

Add !!! (Chk Chk Chk) and Peter Di Stefano to the unconfirmed, but mostly confirmed list of Lollapalooza artists that I posted yesterday.
