I think I already read that somewhere…maybe nme.com?
No. No. It was modern something. NME heard it from them.
Impossible. Pitchfork are the gods of the music world, there is simply no fucking way that anybody knew about this before them. I don’t know why they didn’t put “exclusive” next to it!
Be nice to The Modern Age, she did credit me. So did Glorious Noise.
NME, Rolling Stone, Yahoo! Music, etc. are just major publications that steal from the internet daily. Whatever they’re running today, they stole from someone else’s site — except NME, who just makes shit up.
Pitchfork actually gets bonus points for contacting John S. and talking to him about the disc. I don’t know where they got this idea of checking sources before “publishing” something, but I like it.
for the record - I wasn’t trying to knock modern. Just mentioning that NME linked to them(her) as the source, ect.
jack white’s in more bands… i just found out about the raconteurs thursday!
He also had a band called “The Upholsterers” which was a band made up of Jack White and Brian Muldoon. They only made one 7″ inch single called “Makers Of High Grade Suites”. If anybody wants a copy let me know…
A copy of the 7″ ? Yeah, sure.
Here is a RS link. It’s small because it’s only 160kbps and 3 songs, but at least you can check it out. Sorry I don’t have anything in better quality.

No, I meant I want an actual, physical copy of the 7″. One of the few holes in my collection…
Anyone ever hear of a band called The Go? Someone told me that Jack White used to play glockenspiel for them. Or something.
He played the tuba on Charm Farm’s debut and the washboard on The Verve’s “Freshman (Radio Edit)”.
The Verve or the Verve Pipe? I hate both. The Verve Pipe used to play every fucking night in Kalamazoo (it seemed). They were Johnny With An Eye first. That band was better.
Anyway, sharing time.
When I used to see the Verve Pipe at the bar (2 options in town) they used to be a band of t-shirts and rock and roll bar stuff – not bad, but not great either. Then they suddenly got “big” and the next time I see them is on the MTV and all these douche bags are wearing leather outfits, sunglasses, and just generally trying to look like assholes.
And the Freshman…puh-leeze. That song was neat once - the first time you heard it.
If you’re talking about something else altogether, just ignore this.
