You know what the world could use? More of this Urban Playground Movement. Less being so goddamn serious and more fucking around like pre-schoolers. International Pillow Fight Day was Saturday. Cities all over the world participated in huge outdoor pillow fights.
Where the police dis-armed potential pillow fighters in Campus Martius, because they might have made a mess. And we wouldn’t want any more mess in the mess now, would we?
When does the next Most Miserable Cities in the U.S. list come out?

As a person who has tried (sometimes successfully - more successfully recently) to host large-scale events in public parks without permits, the main things you have to consider are not leaving a mess behind when you leave and not overstepping common sense with what you’re doing and your setup. 5 years ago we got kicked out of a park we were using for an 8 team (~25 person) wiffleball tournament for building a 15-20 foot wall in left field with 30 foot foul poles. Lesson learned: don’t draw so much attention. Same park 2 years later, still no communication with the city, but with more modesty in our proceedings and we had no problems.
Plus, you know there is that big deal or big dance or something going on down their this weekend. Obviously, the city isn’t going to want feathers and stuffing, as well bottles and whatever else getting left behind all over one of the few areas out of towners are actually going to want to walk through during that time.
Besides, pillow fights are supposed to be done naked in the dark (the only thing that is supposed to be done in the dark while naked).
i hate them when separate, but combine the two…

They should of let them stay, they were the only ones there. And besides NO OUT OF TOWNERS (or in towners) walked any where near campus martius ANYTIME during the entire weekend……check out the pic from yesterday.

trying to something like that in campus martius, this weekend of alltimes, obviously wasnt gonna work. im sure if it had been in midtown or somewhere in the cass corridor,no one would’ve even noticed.
