So you’re now into your first workday post-Blowout, and you still feel gross, and you’re still wondering why Skipper’s kept putting happy face and star stamps on your hands every time you came in. Hey, me too.
Everyone who is a sane functioning adult and doesn’t use the internet on the weekends can feel free to make sure there vote gets counted in the polls up there and to the right, or vote again from work to be extra sneaky. What we didn’t tell you is that the winner of each night will be the bands selected to open for Public Image Ltd at the Crofoot in April. No, not really.
As far as new and never before seen things, I’ll give this year to Illy Mack & The Kodaks. Illy Mack is playing a free show on Friday at Alvin’s that you should try to stop into if you’re back in the mood for live music then.
I’ll tell you now to go see Surfer Blood tomorrow at The Magic Stick and to go see Tigercity & Lettercamp on Wednesday at The Magic Stick. Those will be big fun times. This morning while violently pressing every button on the alarm clock some AM radio guy told me it was going to be nice for a little while, so I’m going to pretend that I’m not a vampire for the rest of the week and try to figure out what this “sun” thing everyone keeps tell me about is.

Being cryptic only because Will Rogers always told me if you didn’t have anything nice to say about somebody you shouldn’t say it….but I was at the same show early on Saturday evening that you and your bagged friend were at and all I can say is that you guys are quite generous.
That’s the weird thing about music, bro. Like, some people like some stuff that other people totally don’t like.
i spent most of my time at the atlas bar and i saw some really great oh shit HARMONY HARMONY OH LOVE
I wasn’t referring to my subjective observations.
BLASE PWND
go see Surferblood- they’re the only band from Florida that deserve to get anywhere. Otherwise, Florida’s contribution to music will remain in the hands of Creed, Backstreet Boys, and New Found Glory..
I think FluffyBunny means we tip our bartenders well.
Any band (Surfer Blood) who is set to play ten times in like four days at SXSW is worth checking out on that fact alone. 10 fucking times.
There is a good song on that Surfer Blood album. I think it was track number 2 or 3.
i like “harmonix” by surfer blood a lot. also, turbo fruits are good. no one gives them credit but they are good, their guitar player is especially skilled. it’s going to be a good time tomorrow.
Natural child are better
Oh yeah?
Listen to Surfer Blood’s ‘Swim’ and then listen to Brian Eno’s ‘Needle in the camels eye’. hmm..I wish brian eno would play here.
